Cozumel, Mexico
July 22, 2009 by sjcarrettoGrand Cayman
July 20, 2009 by sjcarrettoThe first port that we stopped at was Georgetown, Grand Cayman. We created our own excursion by taking a taxi to Seven Mile Beach and renting a snorkel and some floats. The water was beautiful! We snorkeled right off the beach and saw some pretty neat fish. We then walked around some of the shops. There were these pirate statues all over. We heard from a guy on our boat that Grand Cayman saw a lot of pirate activity years ago.
Here is a pic of a squid we saw!

There’s no place like Rome!
June 18, 2009 by sjcarrettoThis week was VBS at our church. The theme was Paul and the Underground Church. The kids had fun at the marketplace where they used coins to do crafts and buy food. They also participated in Roman sports and games! The Bible lessons were taught in the underground church. The kids would visit Paul(Steve) first while he was under house arrest. Then they would venture through a DARK cave to go to the underground church (the church was really dark!) In the underground church they would talk with Lucia (Jess) and Agetha about the message for the day. We really enjoyed being apart of VBS, even though we had to memorize a lot:)
Mom and Dad Carretto Visit
May 18, 2009 by sjcarrettoSteve’s parents and Aunt Beth visited us last week. We did our best to show them the sites of South Florida. We swam in the ocean, Steve and dad golfed, went on an airboat, and went to Lion Country Safari a drive through zoo. We got some great pictures of animals right outside our car and even had a few cross the road in front of us! All in all it was a great time had by all.
Man-o-war sting
May 15, 2009 by sjcarrettoSteve was in the ocean Monday, when he was stung by a man-o-war! One of its tenacles wrapped around his left ankle. You can see it is swolen and red. He said that it really hurt and stung. The lifeguards sprayed something on it to reduce the sting. It continued to sting on Tuesday and it now looks like a scratch across his foot. Many of you can probably imagine that he is very proud that he experienced it:)
Heat
May 12, 2009 by sjcarrettoLast weekend we went to the sixth game of the Heat v. Atlanta series. It was a great time and the Heat played a great time!
